18 Weeks Pregnant

May 31, 2012

If you've wondered why I post the date on here when it automatically shows the date already, it's because sometimes I don't post my experiences on the day that they happened. Anyhow, I am 18 weeks and 1 day pregnant today. I am exhausted, I have only slept 4 hours last night. One of my worst symptoms is allergies. I normally have allergies in the first place, but my nasal passageways have been extra congested lately, and that happens when you're pregnant. So I haven't been sleeping well and have been a lot more irritable lately. It's not fun, AT ALL. I do take Benadryl sometimes, my doctor has given me the OK to use it. But I don't use it often, I don't like how tired it makes me, and I'd like to take as little medication as possible while being pregnant.
I have been experiencing round ligament pain a lot more now. If I am doing leg stretches on the floor, it hurts pretty badly. My pubic bone just feels so weird, like something is pulling it apart. It isn't an unbearable pain, but it's still pain. It even hurts when I'm sleeping and I go to turn over to my other side. I guess you could say it is more uncomfortable than anything. I know that it is normal, so I am okay with it and just learning to deal with it. The baby is growing, so everything in my body is getting bigger, giving the baby the room s/he needs. My back has been cracking a lot lately, on its own. If I get up from sitting or if I turn over while I'm laying down it cracks. I usually crack my back on my own, but it hasn't ever cracked on it's own like that until recently.  I definitely feel a lot more uncomfortable if I lie on my stomach, and no, I don't do that for anymore than a couple minutes. My stomach is definitely growing and I've been feeling the baby move a lot more lately. It is really an amazing feeling. I tend to feel it more when I am eating. The movements are getting more frequent for sure.  ANATOMY SCAN Today is also the day that Danny and I went to get an ultrasound of the baby and have an anatomy scan. Everything looked normal and fine to me, but we are waiting to receive results from the radiologist. My screening for Down Syndrome was negative, so our baby definitely won't have that, which we are so thankful for! Anyway, we were not able to find out the gender of our little one yet, the baby had its legs closed throughout most of the ultrasound, and when the legs were finally open, we still didn't have a good enough view. They said they didn't see any obvious boy parts, but it still could be either gender. We will have to find out next month hopefully, so we will schedule an appointment for then.  Danny and I are moving tomorrow! We will be in Mammoth Lakes, California for a week visiting his dad, then we will head to Kingman, Arizona to his sister's house. We will be driving, so we're leaving very early tomorrow morning. We've driven the distance before, so we know what to expect and we are excited. I love long road trips!

17 Weeks Pregnant

May 23, 2012

Today I am 17 weeks pregnant. I haven't been feeling too great today, earlier this morning I felt very dizzy and felt as if I were going to pass out. Luckily, that didn't happen. I fed myself and drank plenty of water before it got to that point. Even after eating, though, I still felt a little light headed. These are one of the feelings I hate the most, because I have never felt like this in my life, until I got pregnant. I haven't felt like this many times during my pregnancy, just a few.

I have mentioned in my Pregnancy Vlog -Week 17 video that my belly is starting to feel harder. I can feel my uterus very well now, and the baby. I start to get uncomfortable if I lie on my stomach for too long. I'm not able to lay on my back anymore, as of last week, which is fine with me, I never really found that position comfortable, anyhow. I usually sleep on my stomach, but lately I've been sleeping on my sides. It's more comfortable that way.

Something I did not mention in my pregnancy vlog, that I am so excited about, is the fact that last night, I felt the baby move. I only felt it once, so I didn't think much of it. I went to sleep shortly after. Today, while I was eating dinner, I felt several movements in my belly, it felt like little flutters. I am sure that it was the baby. I've never felt anything like it before, that's when I realized that last night, that tiny movement I felt, was also the baby. I was 16 weeks and 7 days when I felt my baby move for the very first time. Such a wonderful feeling! If you're a mother, or mother to be, you know exactly what I'm talking about!
Danny and I have an anatomy scan on the 31st of this month, so they will do an ultrasound and check the anatomy of the baby to make sure everything is alright and normal. We will also find out the gender that day (if they are able to see it clear enough)! I will be 18 weeks and 1 day pregnant that day, so I am hoping that it won't be too early to see my baby's genital area. They said they may or may not be able to tell at 18 weeks, but many people have told me that they found out at 18 weeks, or a little earlier. So we are hopeful! Again, we are hoping for a boy! But we will be happy with either!

16 Weeks Pregnant

Hey amazing followers! If you've watched my pregnancy vlog for this week, then you already know that not much has changed since last week. I am still having headaches occasionally, still having vivid dreams, things like that. However, I do have some exciting news! Danny and I are moving to his sister's house in Arizona in 2 weeks, so I had to reschedule my appointment for the anatomy scan... for those of you who don't know what that is, basically it's where they look at your baby and check it's anatomy, to see if there is anything wrong with the way the baby's body is developing. They can also determine what the gender is!! So Danny and I will (hopefully) be finding out the gender in 2 weeks! Our appointment is on May 31st.

Apparently they may or may not be able to see what the gender is, but most people have found out the gender of their baby at 18 weeks. So I'm thinking positive thoughts and hoping for the best! We are so anxious to find out, myself especially! I've been wanting to know for months now, and I'm so close to finally knowing! I will definitely keep everyone updated and of course, post a video about it. I have mentioned the names in a few of my videos, but in case you haven't seen them, I'll mention them again! If it is a girl, she will be Rylee Madyson Sperry. If it is a boy, he will be Ryker David Zane Sperry.
So I apologize that this blog wasn't very informative, but like I said, this week is pretty much the same as last. I am enjoying my second trimester. Even though I didn't really have morning sickness in the first place, I am not as tired being in my second trimester, and I feel amazing! Thank you so much to all of you who are supporting me and being there for me! I love you all.

15 Weeks Pregnant

May 17, 2012

So this week is going pretty smoothly. Again, I feel pretty much the same as last week. I've heard that you feel your best in your second trimester, most women anyway, and it's true! I feel great. I am energized, fully awake, and have a normal appetite. I feel amazing.

I have been having weird, vivid dreams the last few days, though. They were kind of scary, not necessarily nightmares, but I suppose they'd be considered nightmares if you were a little kid. I was in Canada in one of my dreams, and there was a huge tornado and the whole sky turned pitch black... I suppose that was a nightmare, because if I were to see a tornado in real life, I'd probably cry. In one of my other dreams, I was in London, and these two British guys were beating me up. That's just a glimpse of a couple dreams I've had. Very random, but I never have vivid dreams, dreams that are so clear and easy to remember.
I've been able to sleep well still. So I'm thankful for that. Only last night I kept tossing and turning, and I don't know why. I've been trying to go to sleep earlier this week, and it's working pretty well. Usually I go to bed around 2 AM. Lately it's been about 10-12. I also feel like I'm getting sooo big so fast! Compared to last week, my stomach has grown so much.  That's pretty much it for this week. I've been reading my book, Your Pregnancy Week by Week, and it's an amazing book. It has great information in it. Like I said, the second trimester seems to be going great, so who knows what kind of changes I will see in the weeks ahead.  Click on the photo to view the full sized image.

14 Weeks Pregnant

May 3, 2012

Hi guys! If you've already seen my vlog on YouTube, then you know there isn't really much to say about this week. I feel almost exactly the same as I did last week. I did mention in my vlog, however, that I do have to pee a lot more than I had to before, and not just in the middle of the night. I have to pee about every hour.

I also have really bad eczema lately. I've had eczema since I was born, I'd usually get it around winter, during the dry time of the year. But as I started getting older, it hasn't been very bad at all and I wouldn't get it very often. In the past few weeks, my eczema has been getting so bad. Eczema is a skin disease that is not contagious, and your skin gets really dry and really itchy. I have a special cream for it from the doctors, but it doesn't seem to help very much.  Danny and I have our next doctor appointment on May 7th, my birthday! I am hoping I have another ultrasound, I don't see why I wouldn't. But I don't know how often people get them, I have an appointment every month, so I'm hoping they do an ultrasound every time you go in, I'd really like to see the progress! I am hoping for a boy now, at first I was hoping for a girl, but I really want a boy. I've always wanted to have a boy first, I never had an older brother, but I thought it'd be so cool to have one. I know I'll have more kids one day (2 more at the most!), but I really hope it's a boy first! I should find out the gender on June 4th! So I told you guys I'd post a picture of my stomach in this blog, so here it is. You can view the full size by clicking on the image.
